’69 Turns 55: Looking Forward With Wisdom
Note: Mark your calendar now! Thursday, May 30, 2024 to Sunday, June 2, 2024
Almost five years have passed since our excellent 50th reunion in 2019. Today, each of us is five significant years wiser as we face the future.
Now use that wisdom and prepare to sharpen it by marking your calendar for our 55th reunion, May 30 – June 2, 2024. It will be another opportunity to renew and create valued friendships and to learn from each other and Yale professors.
A hearty group of 20 classmates (see list below) is headlong into planning the reunion. As those of you who volunteered and participated in our two planning sessions in September and November know, the core program will be a series of special events for and by our class, and outstanding lectures by professors that the Yale Alumni Association (YAA) makes available for all returning alumni. We are also leaving plenty of time for conversation. The combination should be enjoyable and stimulating to classmates and their guests alike.
At this point, we expect that you will be able to enjoy enlightening class discussions on diverse topics looking forward to the future, such as the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on our lives, new Yale research on wellness in our 70’s and beyond, and the results of a new class survey. (You will receive the survey instrument this winter.)
We expect to hold our traditional Memorial Service on Saturday afternoon and our class dinner on Saturday evening. We are also planning musical entertainment by classmates. We will provide you with updates as the reunion schedule takes shape, so you can plan your time in New Haven.
Reunion headquarters for our class will be the glorious and comfortable grounds of Timothy Dwight College, which was also our headquarters for our 45th reunion. Official YAA reunion registration will open in early 2024. Soon we will have a dedicated page on the YAA website.
For those of you who wish to book hotels in New Haven, keep your eyes peeled for an email from the YAA in early January 2024, announcing that blocks of rooms are ready for you to reserve. We suggest that you select your hotel and begin calling early in the morning on that day. [Editor note: See also “Hotel Hacks for Reunion.”]
If you have any suggestions or questions, please contact us at reunion@Yale1969.org.
We look forward to seeing everyone in a few short months!

Where is the online sign-up for the reunion itself? It’s a mystery to me. I’ve had reservations for a hotel for ages.
Thanks.
