Marty Cohen’s latest book of poetry is now available

Marty Cohen, Pierson ’69, Yale SOM MBA ’81

According to his 50th Reunion Essay, Marty Cohen retired in 2015 with six goals, two of which were to publish works in progress and create new ones. He has fulfilled at least one of those goals by publishing Stone Seeds, which Amazon describes as follows: “Stone Seeds is about paying attention to the connections between people and places, poetry and birds, songs and silence, spirituality and the material world.”

Marty has been publishing poetry and essays on literature and the arts since 1970. Stone Seeds brings together the best of his work since A Traveller’s Alphabet, (1979, Prescott Street Press, Portland, Oregon).

Available directly from Marty or from Amazon

Marty says, “Folks can get a copy at Amazon – or a signed copy directly from me   (martycohen36@gmail.com)  for $10  – or free if you promise to make a donation to NRDC or Doctors without Borders or a similar non-profit of your choosing. I’ll cover the postage.”

In my dialogue with Marty, I also learned that he’s still living in Long Island (New Hyde Park, NY 11040) where his wife, Randy Ellen Sheinberg (’81, MPPM ’87) is rabbi at Temple Tikvah, and a Vice President of Central Conference of American Rabbis.

His third grandchild, Oberon, was recently born to his first daughter, Ariel.  (He observes that these parents might love the theater!)   His second daughter, Paola, is in her first year at Adelphi University.

A Traveller’s Alphabet is out of print, but Marty reports that a few copies of that book, including the drawings by Henk Pander, are also available.  Ping him at  917-922-8870 or martycohen36@gmail.com
