Business School At Yale
During the summer between my junior and senior year in high school, my parents took me around to look at colleges. We stopped in New Haven in July. The campus was mostly deserted. I got a map and walked around, eventually walking into a building on Prospect Street (where the Becton Engineering building now is) that housed the Department of Industrial Administration.
There I looked over the bulletin boards, agog at all the summer programs, announcements about opportunities at Oxford, memos welcoming new faculty and the like, posters for events that had been held in May, etc. I was shocked from my reveries by a portly old man who asked if he could help.
Well, long story short, he was Tom Holmes. He invited me into his office, answered my questions and encouraged me to explore further. Only later did I learn who he was: a member of the senior faculty and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the department! Wow, I thought. This place really DOES care about its students.
