An earlier post reported that our classmate Bruce Plyer recently died. Today, he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery: Capt. Bruce Plyer, USN, received full military honors, including horse-drawn caisson, escort, band, firing party and bugler.  Four classmates — Wil Lam, Dick Livingston, Derry Allen and Len Richards — are pictured here after the ceremony. Frank passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Frank was a resident of Alexandria, Virginia at the time of passing. [in_memoriam_closing]

Classmates, Your scribe has learned from Barbara Plyer that her husband Bruce Plyer died in November, 2018.  She reports that “he had just finished lifting weights and came upstairs. His death was a sudden catastrophic event and took only minutes.” “He loved his time at Yale. He was a member of the Dramat; he rowed for four years; he was an architecture major. Bruce was also a talented artist who drew the cover for the Whiffenpoofs’ album….

Ozer, who specialized in treatment of blood cancers, is internationally known for his work on biological therapies for cancer. Vincent Scully spent virtually all his life in New Haven, as a star student at Hillhouse High School, Yale College, and Yale Grad School — teaching at Yale from 1947 until 2014. Jonathan Mowry Steere, III, passed away on November 16, 2017 at Hock Hospice Center in Durham, NC after a prolonged illness. He was 71 years old.
