Howard Newman Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award
London, United Kingdom, Oct. 22, 2019. The Oil and Gas Council honored our Howard Newman with its Lifetime Achievement Award at its North American dinner on October 22, 2019. The Council is an international organization of executives, investors, policy makers and other leaders in the global energy business, and they describe the award thusly:
Our Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates the triumphs and successes of those individuals who have made a true difference in their industry. These executives are responsible for pioneering new frontiers, pushing boundaries, for inspiring others and for achieving growth in challenging markets as well as giving back to the communities. They are those that we should be proud of and that we benchmark industry excellence to.
As Howard describes in the video recap (below), his career has been focused on energy investing in 1974, including creating some unique business structures that align the interests of all parties.
Those of you who attended FOR GOD, FOR COUNTRY AND FOR THE PLANET: Ten Classmates Lead Reunion Discussion know that Howard is now spending a significant amount of his time (and money) helping The Salk Insitute develop some biologically-based methods that extract CO2 from the air and, using photosynthesis capture and sequester it in the soil and root systems. Very innnovative.
The video is a lovely tribute — simple, but it does capture many of Howard’s qualities — humor, intelligence, creativity, humility and kindness.
Congratulations, Howie!
