JE Celebrates A Mini Reunion
Several classmates from JE gathered in Half Moon Bay, partly to celebrate the life of Randy Straff, who recently passed away, and partly to have fun.
Steve Haworth, who now lives in Alameda, arranged to rent a lovely 5 bedroom place. Joining him were Nathan Gans, John Nelson, Eric Lenck, Dave Joseph and Wayne Willis.
People arrived on Friday in time for a grocery shopping trip and plans to divvy up the workload for the weekend. Without spouses to keep people in check, the kitchen quickly reverted to batchelor slovenliness, but the food prepared for dinner was surprisingly delicious. After dinner, we reminisced about Randy a bit and raised more than a glass or two to his memory.
Saturday was warm enough to sit on the beach, but only John Nelson was brave enough to swim in the Pacific in 56 degree water! Brrrrr! Moreover, he still has the Greek-god body that allows him to get away with wearing a Speedo.
We did a bit of touring in Half Moon Bay, including a new artisanal distillery specializing in vodkas and gins. Of course, we had to sample that.
People had to leave to catch plane rides home later on Sunday, but it was a lovely weekend.
