New Reunion Events Announced
The Reunion Details page has a few new items. In brief:
- Golf – The Yale Golf Course has reserved a block of tee times starting at 10:00 AM on Thursday for our Class. Eric Lenck (JE) is organizing things. Details outlined here. If you want to play, plan to arrive early enough to join the other linksmen on Thursday morning and email Eric indicating your interest.
- Tennis – We are not certain how many classmates are interested in playing. If you are interested, please email John Nelson about your interest. If enough classmates are interested, we may be able to negotiate a block of reserved times.
- Faculty Presentations – In addition to those wonderful, campus-wide lectures, we are working with the Alumni Association to have one of the senior faculty available exclusively for our class.
- Memorial Service – On Sunday morning at 10:00, we will commemorate those class members who have passed away with a memorial service dedicated to them. If your travel plans permit, please plan to stay so that you are able to attend this meaningful event.
Two other quick updates:
- The 50th Reunion ClassBook. Bound copies are coming from the printer in late March and targeted for mailing on or about April 1st. You should have received confirmation of your mailing address by email about 10 days ago. If you’ve recently moved or are uncertain that we have your correct mailing address, use the contact us form to specify the address you want the book sent to.
- The Registration Page for the Reunion itself. The formal signup page will go live in early March. It will show final pricing** and enable you to select which days you plan to attend, which meals you want, and whether you want a room in Davenport.
** The Reunion Committee has earmarked some funds for “financial aid” for Classmates for whom attending would impose a financial burdenl. Plus, there’s a private request/approval process directly with the Yale Alumni Association officer who manages our class (and a dozen others). All communications are fully confidential.
Folks, we are on the final lap now. Preliminary indicators point to a very good turnout. This is, after all, that last major reunion we’ll have.
I hope you can come: The class panels that are organizing are VERY meaty, topical and positive. We’ll have more details about the programs by mid-March. The people I’ve spoken with, even some folks I expected to be reticent or even grumpy, are eager to see their “extended family of friends.” I think you’ll have a great time.
This is obviously a huge job of work; thank you, guys.
“This is, after all, that last major reunion we’ll have”. Wow. Is that official, or just practical? I immediately thought, “is this the last time we’ll see one another?” In my gut, I’m not ready for the final curtain. Let’s hope this isn’t it.

I am looking forward to seeing all the Saybrook roommates of Eric Muirhead, Jerry Rosenbaum, Andy Vorkink and Rick Arnold and more importantly their significant others.
Also follow Eric Muirhead on Amazon to see the book trailers for Rindu and Eden’s Abyss (better sex than 50 Shades of Grey). The Kindle edition is free, btw. See also the one-minute bio and my Book Club discussions of Rindu and Eden’s Abyss.
Has the reunion registration gone live?
If so, I missed it.
Has the Reunion Committee asked the Yale Art Gallery whether it could schedule a screening of Matthew Barney’s new film “Redoubt” (reviewed very favorably in the NYT on 3/22/19) that doesn’t conflict with our other major planned activities?
