Class Survey Results Now Available
A record number of us responded to the anonymous Class Survey conducted last Winter. Let me extend my thanks once more to every one of you who took the time to fill out the survey questionnaire! Results have been compiled, graphs made, and cross-tabs run.
Good news: the Reunion Committee has authorized the release of the survey results in advance of the reunion!
As you may know, I’m a professor at University of Virginia and the Founding Director of the Center for Survey Research — and I was delighted to work with the Committee and with our classmate Mike Baum in designing the survey. With help from several UVA students, we’ve compiled all the results. I think the data are fascinating (but then, I’m a data geek).
So far, we’ve kept these data under wraps. I’m glad the Reunion Committee is letting you have the results early, and I think “one chunk at a time” is a great way to do this. (There were a LOT of questions!)
So, today we release the first of several brief summaries of results — corresponding to the main sections of the survey itself. See Survey: 1. Who Are We? for the first installment. (Thanks to Wayne Willis, our website editor, for his help in putting this summary together.)
Also, there is now a “section” on the home page, just below ARCHIVES and above CLASS NOTES, which will present all the posts related to the Survey. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing these statistical reports on the class as a whole, and I look forward to seeing any comments you care to share as we post more result summaries (about once a month).
