Anthony Morrison Kurland, Jr. – 50th Reunion Essay
Anthony Morrison Kurland, Jr.
Date of Death: 20-Dec-2013
College: Pierson
(This memorial appeared in the May/June 2015 Class Notes.)
He was a resident of Bangor, Maine. He attended Punahou School, President Obama’s high school, before arriving at Yale. At Yale he majored in archaeology, and made Phi Beta Kappa. He received his PhD in anthropology from Harvard. Some of his collection of pre-Columbian art has been recently auctioned by Artemis Gallery.
From Daniel Seiver: It appears his work of fiction entitled “South of South,” was published by the Harvard Review on July 24, 2013, shortly before his death.
From John Alter: Anthony and I were roommates freshman year. I remember Anthony as scholarly; a poet; a man with a somewhat surprising interest in rock & roll.
If the above is blank, no 50th reunion essay was submitted.
