Great Co-Ed Week Photos

Editor’s Note:  Our classmate Bill Sacco took these photos in Fall, 1968, as a stringer for Life Magazine.  They will quickly transport you to “back in the day” — how young we were!

Hello, all –

I have finally found and scanned a selection of the photos I took in the fall of 1968 as one of four Silliman students assigned to cover Coed Week for Life magazine. Two of them appeared in Life’s article.

For me, Coed Week was the start of a life’s career in photography. I cut all my classes to photograph the week’s events; I was hooked.

Higher-resolution files exist, though these are adequate for any on-screen use. Contact me if a higher resolution file is needed.

Best,
Bill

  1. These are great pictures. I don’t remember there being so many good-looking women, but the camera doesn’t lie. Bill, I hope you pursued your photographic ambitions.

  2. So wholesome looking, these girls. That’s something I don’t remember. There’s no “beat” look among these young women. No decadence. No seduction. What i think my long ago impression was, I think it was that these girls were “cool” looking. Instead I see wholesome, cute, perky even.
