Friday Night Plans for Yale-Harvard Weekend Finalized

Tickets to the Yale-Harvard Game in Boston on Saturday Nov. 17th are almost all sold out.

I’m now happy to report that Lang Wheeler has nailed down the details for the FRIDAY NIGHT festivities.  The full details about Friday evening events are available online, but here’s the latest info, summarized:

The Joint Glee Club Concert.  7:30 pm.  Harvard’s Sanders Theatre will host a wonderful joint concert featuring the Yale and Harvard glee clubs.  It’s normally “festival seating” (first come, first served), but Lang has worked a deal with the Business Manager of the Harvard Glee Club to reserve a block of seats in a choice location for our Class.  Thus we can arrive at the last minute and still sit together in a nice location.

Dinner Beforehand – Henrietta’s Table.  5:15 pm.   We will commence the evening with dinner and wine at Henrietta’s Table at the nearby Charles Hotel, beginning at 5:15 pm sharp.  There will be a cash bar for those preferring something other than wine.  Henrietta’s cuisine is nouveau New England, with traditional dishes prepared with a modern flair.  Zagat reviewers give Henrietta’s food 4.4 stars out of five! Henrietta’s is the preferred Power Lunch spot in Harvard Square and is the main restaurant of the Charles Hotel, the best hotel in Cambridge.

Cost.  $125 per person buys you dinner and wine at Henrietta’s Table plus a concert ticket in our Class of ’69 block in Sanders Theater.  The Charles Hotel is about a ten-minute walk across Harvard Square from Sanders Theater.  If we leave the Charles by 7:15 pm, we’ll be in our seats with a few minutes to spare.

Limited Ticket Availability

Owing to the size limits of the room and the limited number of concert tickets Harvard will hold for us, there is a maximum of 45 tickets available.  Twelve (14) tickets have already been spoken for.  The rest are available on a first come, first-served basis.   You can order online here … or mail a check to Lang Wheeler (48 Lake View, Cambridge, MA 02138).
