Hoop and Tree Explained

As we have profiled before, Chris Hoffman has published four books of poetry and a bedrock book called The Hoop and the Tree, which went through a second edition with some revised and updated materials in 2021.  He explained the image and the metaphors of hoop and tree in an article published last year on the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America website.

As my eyes age, I read less and do more listening to audiobooks and YouTube videos.  Chris recently shared a presentation he made about the book during a lecture series called Zoom at Noon.  The first 15 minutes walk through a high-level summary of the model, which I commend to those classmates who might be interested.  (If you have time, Chris also does a screen share of some wonderful images for about three minutes starting at 34:26.)
