Kevin McKeown reported the following: “As winter grinds on, classmates may be glad to know things are still Green in southern California. Despite the pronounced rightward swing nationally, I was returned by local voters to the Santa Monica city council in November and subsequently elected mayor pro tem by my colleagues, proving that not only can Greens govern, we can get reelected. As of last summer I’m also a member of the national committee of the Green Party of the United States.” Kevin failed to note that he is on President Bush’s Christmas card list.

Theodore Robinson wrote from Norwood, Massachusetts, to invite all nautically inclined classmates to join him in some yacht racing. “I’ve taken up a new hobby in the last couple of years: sailboat racing,” Ted advises. “Got a 33-foot Hobie ultra-light offshore sloop, and have discovered the challenge of trying to outsmart the other yachties in local regattas in the ocean around New England. The boat will be in year-round, so any ‘mates that want to see what riding ocean waves in a sailboat is like are welcome aboard.” Bring your own medication.

Finally this month, Frank Sherer wrote from Middlebury, Connecticut, to mention the matriculation of his daughter (listed above), and also to report that he still works at Timex Corporation after 20 years, “ . . . generally in the legal department, but more recently as chairman of our Indian public subsidiary and head of human resources.”

Thanks to all of you for your letters. Until next month, I remain your humble scribe.
