At 99%, Yale’s athletic program was among nine schools with the highest GSR in the country. Four other Connecticut programs exceeded 90%: Fairfield (96%), Quinnipiac (94%), Hartford (94%), and UConn (92%).

UConn’s percentage is the program’s highest since the NCAA began monitoring GSR in 2002. The men’s basketball program had a rate of 90%, while the women’s basketball program graduated 100% of its athletes.

UConn’s overall GSR score was 90% last year and 89% in 2018.

“Our student-athletes’ performance in the classroom continues to be exceptional and is representative of their tremendous work ethic,” Athletic Director David Benedict said in a statement.

Yale had 19 programs with a score of 100%, including men’s hockey, soccer and lacrosse; baseball; and women’s soccer, basketball and ice hockey. The men’s basketball program scored 94%, while football scored 99%.

Twelve Fairfield programs scored a 100% graduation rate. Men’s basketball was at 91%; women’s basketball 93%.

“Once again, Fairfield student-athletes achieved one of the highest GSR scores in the country, a true testament to their commitment to academic excellence,” Athletic Director Paul Schlickmann said in a statement.“This score also reflects the university’s dedication to the educational experience of our student athletes. This achievement would not be possible without the efforts of our coaches and staff who continue to encourage success both in the classroom and in competition.”

The Quinnipiac men’s and women’s basketball programs graduated 100% of their athletes. The men’s hockey program scored 94%.

Sacred Heart’s overall rate was 89%, with the women’s basketball program at 100% and the men at 91%. Central Connecticut’s athletic department scored 76%.
