    The Master’s Cat(s)

    ByDavid Wood March 9, 2018April 22, 2023

GooGoo  originated a kind of #MeToo movement among some who had the opportunity of his imposing himself on them. Apparently there was another cat, a female. HoHo (Horace Jr) rushed into the office one day and excitedly announce to Dean Porter that “Something’s wrong with the cat; you have to come help.” Off they went. Later HoHo returned, and when asked where Dean Porter was noted that when they got to the cat a kitten…

50th Reunion ClassBook: ’69 Breaks The Mold Again

    ByWayne Willis March 3, 2018April 22, 2023

We broke the Coat & Tie rule. We invited women on campus and triggered co-education at Yale. And now we do it again:  Instead of a boring little reunion book, we will have a large, beautiful, full-color book worthy of us. Check out the pictures of the ClassBook, outside and inside, and learn more about how your Personal Essay will fit in.

    Class Notes: Mar/Apr 2018

    ByDaniel Seiver March 1, 2018April 22, 2023

How do we top the unalloyed joy of a magnificent upset of the Cantabs in 2016? How about a brilliant 2017 season (9-1) capped with an Ivy Championship, and a delightful drubbing of our hapless nemesis from up north? Your scribe’s white hankie waved with many others in the Bowl, as our long trek through the desert of defeat faded into “mem’ry’s haze.” The Bulldogs are BACK! Here now the news: David Lawrence, via our…

    Today’s Yale, By The Numbers

    ByWayne Willis February 24, 2018April 22, 2023

Here’s a very fast way to see how many folks live on campus, what the student-teacher ratios are, financial aid statistics, the diversity of the student body, where graduates of Yale College go after graduation and other interesting stats about Yale College in a one-page flyer recently published by Yale. It’s a must-read for anyone handling Alumni interviews, and a quick, fun read for everyone else.

    Timothy Dwight Senior Picture

    ByTheodore Snow February 21, 2018April 22, 2023

Here’s a large copy of the Senior Picture for TD, contributed to the Archives Project (gathering pictures, documents, flyers, audio tapes, posters, 8mm movies, publications, etc., etc. — generally, memorabilia that will bring a smile of recollection to a Classmate).   Do you have a senior picture from YOUR College? There’s also a cool “crowdsourcing” element, asking TD’ers to add names of Classmates in the Legend below the picture.

    Bulldogs were Undefeated in ’68

    ByAdmin February 18, 2018April 22, 2023

Here’s another contribution to the Archives Project — A reminder that the Yale Bulldogs were Ivy League champs our senior year, despite a 29-29 TIE. Even better, we have the full film — the documentary produced by some Harvard alums upon the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of That Game. Watch it here. Comments welcome!

    Calling All Packrats

    ByAdmin February 14, 2018April 22, 2023

We are looking for pictures (especially!), document, flyers, audio tapes, posters, publications, etc., etc.– memorabilia, generally. We want to digitize them and use them in the ClassBook and on the website. So NOW is the time to dig out old scrapbooks, shoeboxes or other stored materials from Back In The Day … and get it to us for preservation, use and return to you (if you want the item/hard copy back).

The Summit brought together several hundred alumni, faculty, students and non-Yale people to discuss issues such as population growth, food, farming, EV, renewable energy, climate change, impact investing, etc. They are interviewed by Philip Garvin (MC).

Any Views On “Being Gay At Yale”?

    ByWayne Willis February 4, 2018April 22, 2023

Gay or straight, do you have thoughts to share? The 50th Reunion ClassBook will have our “Personal Essays”, but it will also host some “Invited Essays” on topics of broad interest.  One of these has a working title, Being Gay At Yale [in the 60s]. Two classmates, artist Bill Stanisich and educator Jeff Horton have agreed to author/edit the essay.  They have their own views, and that of people they know from Yale 1969 personally.  But they…
